The artist behind the manga is Hiromu Arakawa, known for her work on Fullmetal Alchemist. The new anime will be produced by Studio Bones, famous for producing Boku no Hero Academia.

A new CG anime remake of Fist of the North Star is currently in production to commemorate the series' 40-year anniversary, with a release planned for 2026. As a result, Warner Bros. Japan Anime is producing the remake.
