Byeon Woo-seok as Sung Jin-Woo
Netflix confirmed the production of a Korean live-action series adaptation for Solo Leveling, one of the most popular action anime and the winner of the Anime of the Year in 2025.
The K-drama and model star, Byeon Woo-seok, will be starring as Sung Jin-Woo. He is known for popular shows such as Lovely Runner, 20th Century Girl, and Strong Girl Nam-soon. Many fans are praising the casting choice on X, saying that "he suits Jin-Woo like a glove" for the Solo Leveling live-action adaptation. Others are even pointing out how similar both Sung Jin-Woo and Byeon Woo-seok are.
Byeon Woo-seok is widely known in South Korea by the nickname "만찢남", which translates to "a man straight out of a manhwa". This is a nod to his striking visuals and physique that closely resemble the art style of Korean webtoons. His casting seems like a perfect fit for fans who’ve long imagined Solo Leveling’s protagonist brought to life in the upcoming live-action.
