The legendary duo may return to direct the next two Avengers movies.

It is no secret that Marvel has had a difficult time coming back from the masterpieces that were Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. But what if the same directors for those two movies came back for the next two Avengers movies? It seems like this may be a possibility, as the Russo Brothers are now in talks to direct Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars.

The news comes from an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where the two said they were in talks for coming back for the next two Avengers.

So, what does this mean for the future of Marvel?

Would the Russo Brothers returning for the next 2 Avengers movies be a good thing?

Many are questioning whether or not the return of the Russo Brothers to direct the next two Avengers movies would be a good or bad thing. The two brothers made history with the release of both Infinity War and Endgame, marking a legendary chapter for the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).

But should Marvel have them back?

Well, while the question is valid, it is worth pointing out the recent flaws within the MCU. Aside from Loki, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel has been a crapshoot lately.

With the firing of Jonathan Majors, who had portrayed Kang the Conqueror in the recent Ant-Man and Loki TV show, many have wondered what's next for the MCU. Majors's character was a part of a long road map to be the next Thanos within the MCU.

Now, many are scared of what Marvel will do next, whether it means recasting Kang or just scrapping his character indefinitely.

So, where do the Russo Brothers come in here?

Marvel's saviors: The Russo Brothers

Up until the last two Avengers movies, Marvel had very few misses within the MCU. Only a few movies were bombed, with the rest being a great build-up to what Infinity War and Endgame were.

So, did the Russo Brothers truly know how to direct two great movies? Or was it more so a cause and effect from having a bunch of great movies leading up to theirs?

Well, while speculation can be added here, there is no exact way of knowing until seeing how the two direct the next two Avengers, if they take on the projects.

Let it be worth noting, though, that both Avengers movies the Russo Brothers directed did numbers at the box office and were all highly reviewed by critics and viewers. While the question of whether or not their return to revive the MCU is a good idea is unknown, there seem to be no better directors looking to take on the films.

I say we let them go for it. Marvel has already been on a downfall. There is no possible way the two could make the franchise any worse.

Luckily, it does seem as if critics are already loving Deadpool and Wolverine, which will be released later this month and set within the MCU. This could be a great setup for the Russo Brothers to return to the franchise.
