Cheaters are unfortunately part of every competitive online game.

Anti-cheat is practically mandatory in any competitive online game, and 2XKO players are wondering how Riot Games will keep cheaters out of their new fighting game.

With players from all around the world joining 2XKO's Alpha Lab playtest, we'll sure see some people trying to gain any slight competitive leverage with prohibited third-party software to enjoy a good start in the new game while ruining the experience of others.

Fortunately for us, Riot Games is ahead of the curve on this topic and is preparing to combat cheaters swiftly in 2XKO just like it does in VALORANT. See what the company has in the works for 2XKO's anti-cheating system here.

2XKO's anti-cheating system

2XKO uses the Vanguard anti-cheat, Riot Games' custom game security software and anti-cheat, according to an official video.

The 2XKO developers want to ensure the "highest level of competitive integrity" in matches from the get go, so even the Alpha Lab playtest matches will have the protection of Vanguard.

How does Vanguard work?

While Riot hasn't said how it will utilize Vanguard in 2XKO, our guess is that it'll work exactly as it does in VALORANT.

"Riot Vanguard consists of a client that runs while VALORANT is active, as well as the usage of a kernel mode driver," Riot wrote. "Our commitment to safety includes our commitment to your privacy. Riot Vanguard was made with Riot Games' dedication to data privacy specifically in mind, and we worked with our legal and compliance teams to ensure it adheres to regional data privacy laws. Specifics on what data we use and collect are available here."

Over the course of the years, Riot enhanced Vanguard to detect the most popular cheats and saw the number of bans stabilize in 2023. VALORANT claimed a victory against cheaters while competitors like CS2 continue plagued with cheaters.
