PlayStation introduces the Evo Community Series’ PS4 Tournaments. Three open-format tourneys with $74,000 in total prizing.

The Evolution Championship Series, or EVO for short as everyone knows it, gives everyone an equal chance to win it all and be crowned the best in the world. Since its official inauguration as EVO in 2002, the tournament has given us incredibly memorable moments in the fighting games' esports scene. The likes of Justin Wong, Seon-Woo Lee, and the iconic Dominique "SonicFox" McLean persona, were all cultivated in this tournament's atmosphere. PlayStation's latest announcement introduces the EVO Community Series’ PS4 Tournaments. Three open-format tournaments where anyone with enough skill can beat his opponents and win cash prizes ahead of EVO 2021.

The EVO 2021 Online tournament kicks off in the first week of August. Before that, the EVO Community Series will open its doors to players starting from June 10th till August 3rd. It will give selected regions around the world a chance to win $74,000 in prize money. Players will be able to participate in more than 120 tournaments, with over 100 hours of broadcasts set up to bring this incredible action to all FGC lovers. The hype train going to EVO 2021 Online is real to say the least.

PlayStation is hosting three tournaments, spanning across the aforementioned timespan. They will namely be FGC Arcade: Evo Edition, Evo 2021 Online Warm-up and Evo 2021 Online Side Tournaments. Each has its own prize pool, dates, eligible regions and featured titles. First up is the FGC Arcade, which will kick off on June 10th and run till June 22nd.Only North American and European players can participate in this, competing for a $20,000 global prize pool.

Moving on to the Online Warm-up. This one will be more inclusive, featuring North America, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Asia. This marks the second of the three tournament series set up by PlayStation. The prize pool is $1K lower than its predecessor, sitting at $19,000. Players will have from June 26th to July 13th to crown a winner.

Last but not least, the Online Side Tournaments will include Japan to the countries eligible from the online warm-up stage. The competition will run from July 8th to August 3rd, finishing only 3 days before the main event. Not only that, with a $35,000 fund, this event has the biggest prize pool of them all.
