It features the TEKKEN World Tour Master event, Esports World Cup 2024 qualifiers, and other global league tournaments.
It’s not a secret that every region of competitive fighting games has its own unique spirit. In an interview with esports.gg, the Street Fighter 6 player Big Bird describes the NA style as a mix between offense and safe play, the Japanese one as reserved, and South American as heavily offensive. But, what about the European players?
As Big Bird himself is from the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), he did not categorize it. This means we have a chance to find out on our own, with The MIXUP 2024 being a perfect opportunity for this.
The stakes are high, and local competitors should overcome mighty global celebrities. Everything to know about The MIXUP 2024 is here: the schedule, the info on big games and global leagues, a list of top players to watch out for, and results.

Big games and global leagues at The MIXUP 2024
The fighting esports event features a few global league qualifiers. These games are worthy of special attention from the community.
TEKKEN 8: The TWT 2024 Master event the EWC 2024 qualifier
The TEKKEN competitive community is in the middle of the world tour, with quite a few top-level Master events being over. Korean players are very strong in TEKKEN 8, such guys as Mulgold, ULSAN, and LowHigh are a threat at every tournament. Also, the Pakistani TEKKEN school is powerful again: ATIF won CEO 2024.
The MIXUP 2024 sure attracts the biggest international competitors, but it’s also a chance for talented European players to earn many TWT points.
In addition to this, two top placements at The MIXUP 2024 TEKKEN 8 tournament give invites to the Esports World Cup 2024. If the top 2 players have already qualified for TEKKEN 8 EWC 2024, the spots go to lower placements.
Street Fighter 6: The Esports World Cup 2024 qualifier
The official league for Street Fighter 6, the Capcom Pro Tour 2024, starts at Evo 2024. Still, the players have something to fight for at The MIXUP — two qualifying spots at the SF6 EWC 2024 tournament.
It’s one of the last chances to reach the Esports World Cup, and naturally, many top-level competitors from all over the world will use it.
Guilty Gear Strive and GBVS Rising: The Arc World Tour 2024 Gold event
Two Arc System Works games have AWT 2024 qualifiers at The MIXUP 2024. Their level is not the highest, though — it’s about fighting for the points, not for the direct invite to the Global Finals event. And it may be a good thing, as more competitors may have a moment to shine while the biggest GGST and GBVSR titans may decide to skip the event (especially with Evo 2024 coming next weekend).
The fights are still interesting to watch! Can the newest characters, Slayer and Beatrix, reach the top 8 brackets?
Dragon Ball FighterZ: The DBFZ World Tour 2024 Power event
It’s only the second event of the current world tour. Dragon Ball FighterZ gets a balance update after Evo 2024, so it’s an opportunity to witness competition with the current build.
Before The MIXUP 2024 DBFZ, INZEM is the general standings leader, thanks to his victory at CEO 2024. Still, France traditionally is one of the strongest regions for the game — even after Wawa retired. We can expect the best French players to compete again for the precious world tour points.
Top players to watch out for
The world of esports is so unpredictable! Anything can happen at The MIXUP 2024 tournaments. And still, it’s interesting to highlight some of the registered attendees — to follow them during the event and enjoy some of the best matches in various games.
