Epic Games dropped a teaser confirming that Wave 2 of the Adventure Time x Fortnite collaboration arrives this week. This crossover leaked shortly after the release of Chapter 7, Season 1, but the release date remained unknown until now. The developers also provided a first look at the characters fans can expect when the next wave arrives this week.

What to expect with Adventure Time x Fortnite Wave 2
The teaser arrived on Jan. 12, confirming a Thursday, Jan. 15 release date for Adventure Time x Fortnite Wave 2. In the video, the characters depicted include Fionna, Cake, and Earl of Lemongrab. Based on that, it's safe to assume all three characters will become playable when they land in the Item Shop on Thursday.
Additionally, when answering a fan's question, the official Fortnite X account revealed that the Ice King will be part of Wave 2 in some manner. Whether that means he'll be an Outfit or not remains to be seen. Unfortunately, none of these cosmetics have been decrypted yet, but the trailer provided a solid look at the characters.
Pricing and anything beyond the four characters mentioned are unclear, but more details should emerge over the coming days. For now, Fionna, Cake, and Earl of Lemongrab will join Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, and Marceline.
What was in Wave 1 of this collab?
The first Wave of Adventure Time x Fortnite launched in April of 2025 during Chapter 6 Season 2. As mentioned above, the game added Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, and Marceline, along with additional cosmetics.
It's unclear what led to Wave 2, whether it be the success of the initial collaboration or a contractual deal between Epic Games and Warner Bros., but most likely the latter.
