There is a lot of fierce competition, and duo Yazmin and Daya are in it to make their families proud. Ahead of all the Fortnite action, esports.gg sat down with them for an interview.

Interview with Yazmin and Daya at The Milk Cup 2025 Finals

In their interview with esports.gg Daya and Yazmin shared that they're happy that they have even more support from their families this year compared to 2024. This is thanks to last year's success of the first-ever LAN for The Milk Cup. In fact, according to Gonna Need Milk, today's broadcast may surpass 2024's record of 7 million viewers. Success can also be measured by parents' acceptance and understanding of esports.

Yazmin, for example, revealed that her parents can now follow her progress more easily through media coverage. The fact that The Milk Cup LAN Finals is now more than just a one-time event has also played an integral role in helping her family understand and support her competitive journey.

"I think bringing it online where they can see it has helped my parents support me more," Yazmin said.

How The Milk Cup builds support for women in Fortnite esports

As for Daya, she told esports.gg last year that her parents traveled all the way to TwitchCon San Diego to see her compete at The Milk Cup 2025 Finals.

"This has helped me as well with my parents support since last year, they couldn't really come because they didn't know what exactly was going on," Daya said.

This is yet another significant step forward. Last year, Daya revealed that she never expected to have an opportunity like going to The Milk Cup's inaugural LAN. Therefore, it meant a lot to her. She also explained that while her parents initially didn’t understand Fortnite esports at all, their support has grown more and more over time.

The Milk Cup 2025 Finals will soon begin on Oct. 18 at 11:30 a.m. PT with Daya and Yazmin's parents as their biggest cheerleaders.
