There's no better way to explore the Fortnite Chapter 6 landscape than with four new movement mechanics: the Ledge Jump, Roll Landing, Wall Kick, and Wall Scramble. Each adds a gameplay flair to the game, especially the Ledge Jump, which is effectively Parkour in Fortnite.

Here's a description of each new mechanic:

  • Ledge Jump - A unique animation that occurs when you sprint at a ledge and press your jump key or button just before the edge. This will send your character into a "Parkour" motion, allowing you to reach places you usually can't otherwise.
  • Roll Landing - Your character enters a rolling animation when holding jump or tapping the jump key or button just before you touch the ground. This sends you into a "barrel roll" animation and will restore some stamina.
  • Wall Kick - Another of Fortnite Chapter 6's movement mechanics allows you to kick off a wall and launch in any direction. You can perform a Wall Kick by jumping into a wall sideways. You can work these into your gameplay and even chain Wall Kicks to expand your movement capabilities.
  • Wall Scramble - The Wall Scramble allows you to scale vertical surfaces until you eventually reach the top. You can work a Wall Kick into a Wall Scramble.

Sprites and Boons debut in Chapter 6 Season 1

Sprites and Boons are new Chapter 6 Season 1 features that will significantly elevate gameplay. Let's start with Sprites, which are three variations of creatures: Air, Water, and Earth. Below is a list of the Sprites and what each does.

  • Air Sprite: Throw them to launch you in the air while granting a glider redeploy. It also damages builds and launches vehicles.
  • Water Sprite: Throw these to deploy a healing fountain that restores health and shield.
  • Earth Sprite: Consumes items you feed them and provides a reward.

You can also bring Sprites to Sprite Shrines, which provides you a Boon, which essentially functions as added perks and benefits to your gameplay. Here is a breakdown of the elemental Boons:

  • Fire Boon: Allows you to reload your weapon faster.
  • Void Boon: Eliminating opponents reveals other players in the area.
  • Wind Boon: Faster movement with your Pickaxe out.
  • Water Boon: Swimming grants health and shield to yourself and your team.

New Simple Edit option added in Fortnite Chapter 6

Many leakers unearthed the Simple Edit option a while ago and it will finally arrive in Chapter 6 Season 1. This feature allows players to play the Battle Royale game mode without the hassle of selecting individual tiles. Fortnite's editing mechanic has become more complex, and this simplifies the process. You can turn this on in the 'Settings' menu.
