The Milk Cup 2025 LAN Finals: Fraanticc and Kanary interview

After a year of duking it out in Fortnite esports tournaments, only the top 50 duos have made it to the TwitchCon stage. One of the duos feature Fraanticc and Kanary, who are fierce competition. They not only won the Series 2 and Series 3 qualifiers, but also earned impressive placements in other tournaments.

For example, as a member of XSET, Fraanticc won third place at The Milk Cup 2024 Finals, claimed victory at Reddysh Royale: Battle Royale, and took home the gold at the PowerHub x Cecenugget Co-ed event. Meanwhile, Kanary recently won the Raidiant Invitational ft. Fortnite tournament, achieved a respectable sixth-place at The Milk Cup 2024 Finals, and earned first place at the Nina x Dixie Trio Cup.

In an interview with esports.gg, both players talked about their winning strategy.

"I think we just both have a lot of confidence," Fraanticc said. "We're very well-rounded players, we both have the same passion and dedication, we want to win just as bad as one another. So that complements each other pretty well because if we have a teammate that doesn't care as much, it can be hard. So I think we just care a lot, and we have good vibes on and off the game."

Kanary agreed, explaining that both players are good with the in-game leader (IGL) role in Fortnite. Both player are also capable fraggers.

The duo's synergy was evident in the aforementioned Series 2 and 3, as they both were relentless in scoping out the competition and securing high ground. Fraanticc explained that their strategy involved holding strong positions and aggressively defending against anyone who approached them since the meta required constant map awareness. As for the current meta, it's Crash Pads galore. Thankfully, nothing is too overpowered.

Kanary joins XSET

Kanary’s hard work was also recognized with her signing to XSET. According to both players, this has been in the works for a while.

"It feels amazing," Kanary said. "It's been worked on for a while now, but I'm definitely excited, and I feel like it's nice to have something to represent now. I have more of something to play for -- not just my family. Now, I have a new family, and I want to rep that, too. I'm very grateful for that."

The Milk Cup 2025 Finals begins at 11:30 a.m. PT live on Gonna Need Milk's dedicated and tiered stage within the San Diego Convention Center. Those watching from home can also catch all of the esports action on Twitch.
