Kaiju No. 8 Fortnite skins: First look and release date

Mere days after leaks and teasers regarding a Fortnite x Kaiju No. 8 collaboration, Epic Games has officially released a trailer. The popular Japanese manga, which revolves around a team battling giant monsters, will soon crossover into Fortnite for the first time with skins, emotes, and more.

Here is everything we learned from the trailer and when we expect the items to be available in the Item Shop.

The 32-second trailer showcased the cosmetics involved in the upcoming Fortnite x Kaiju No. 8 collaboration. Three characters appeared in the short clip: Kikoru Shinomiya, Kafka Hibino, and Reno Ichikawa, alongside various Pickaxes, Back Blings, and more.

Kafka Hibino, known as the titular Kaiju No. 8, is this crossover's main attraction. He is the protagonist who becomes a monster but still aids the monster-hunting Defense Force in their mission. Reno Ichikawa is a young, promising asset who wields the Numbers 6 weapon, referenced in Fortnite's social media post.

Lastly, Kikoru Shinomiya is the lone female in the Fortnite x Kaiju No. 8 crossover. She's another young Defense Force member with standout combat skills and an axe as her primary weapon.

Based on the trailer, here is what we expect from the collab:

Neither Epic Games nor the various leakers in the Fortnite scene have announced an official release date. Based on the trailer launching on Friday, Jan. 24, it's safe to assume the Fortnite x Kaiju No. 8 collab will be available either during tonight's Item Shop reset at 7 p.m. or Saturday, Jan. 25. However, we will have to wait for more information surfaces over the next day or so.
