Destiny 2 developers speak out on server throttle and login issues ahead of The Final Shape

Destiny 2 developers have posted on X with some advice for players who still have been unable to log in amid server issues on The Final Shape's release. Their advice? Restart whatever you can and don't just sit in a queue for hours on end, despite what some in the comments may say.

"Players experiencing sign-on issues are recommended to try restarting their game, console, or launcher to attempt to alleviate these issues."

This message comes after servers have struggled to handle the increased player base trying to play the new expansion, which has now delayed the launch of The Final Shape for over an hour for some players. This author was one such player, but, restating Steam and the game itself led to a fairly quick login, at least in my case. If I will be able to stay in the game may be another question.

These issues likely arise due to the massive interest in what is likely the franchise's final expansion, which has led to record player numbers and a lot of positive community sentiment. Hopefully, these server issues don't slow down the positive momentum that The Final Shape has generated for Destiny 2.
