In the recent EA earnings call, CEO Andrew Wilson announced that the reveal for the next Battlefield title is just around the corner.
Gamers across the world are awaiting a few titles to release, among these is the latest title in the Battlefield series. On May 6, Electronic Arts (EA) concluded its earnings call for the fiscal year 2025. During this, the organization looked back at its earnings for the past year. However, more importantly, some tantalizing details about the next Battlefield title were confirmed.
Battlefield franchise shows promise
Battlefield is a title that has been around for years. Unfortunately, the latest game in the series, Battlefield 2042 (BF 2042), left a lot to be desired at its launch. While some fixes came in over its lifespan, which has been over 3 years, many were disappointed. From Specialists not being received well, to poor map design, and the shift away from its better titles, BF 2042 felt like a failure. This made everyone very skeptical as we approached a new iteration in the series.
However, the players were pleasantly surprised by the introduction of Battlefield Labs (BF Labs). BF Labs became the new Community Testing Environment (CTE) and allowed players to get an early look at the new title. Through this, we have also seen some promise from the game. As the BF Labs process continues, with more access being handed out to signed-up players across the globe.

A reveal looms on the horizon
On May 6, during the EA earnings call, a hint as to when the reveal for the next BF title was given. The CEO of EA, Andrew Wilson, gave a small clue during his statement.
As we look to the future, we’re confident in our ability to execute across a deep pipeline – beginning this summer with the highly anticipated reveal of Battlefield, a pivotal step in delivering on our next generation of blockbuster entertainment.”
From that, it was clear that a reveal for the title would come soon. Many have speculated already that the Summer Games Fest on June 6 remains a fantastic spot for them to unveil the new title. However, others believe that EA will create a special reveal event just for BF’s next iteration.
Furthermore, during this call, it was confirmed that the launch would occur during “FY26”. This means the fiscal year 2026, which concludes at the end of March 2026. This means that, if all goes well, we are likely to have the new title ready by the end of 2025, with space to wiggle if there are problems that need attention.
The next BF title is paramount for EA, as it could make or break the entire series. With the dissatisfaction of players with BF 2042, the new game needs to be an absolute winner from release. We will have more news on the reveal when it becomes available.
