Evil Geniuses and Premier League club Wolverhampton Wolves F.C. team up in new investment partnership. EG are hoping it will help EG to become a worldwide brand.

Evil Geniuses break new ground with the Premier League team

As one of the top teams across all of esports, Evil Geniuses are adding to their accomplishments once again. The English Premier League team Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. - which already has a Wolves esports division - announced a partnership with the esports giant on Wednesday. In addition to an added investment, the partnership brings new branding and merchandise for both teams. This marks the first time an esports team has a physical presence in North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

In a new press release, Evil Geniuses’ CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson praised the Wolves for their like-minded values. She also said how important this is for the growth efforts. “This deal will help power Evil Geniuses’ expansion into the Asian markets,” she said, “while also providing new capital to sign more world-class players and grow into new esports titles.” With the Wolves being a worldwide brand, specifically in Asia, EG plans to use the Wolves' reach to grow into the region. This will include Chinese language content, clothing and sponsorships.

In addition to the press release, there's a striking video as well. Wolves players can be seen competing side-by-side with EG’s gamers in League of Legends and CS:GO, showing the competitive nature of both sports. Wolves Esports is not new, in fact they became the first Premier League team to enter the Rocket League professional scene back in November.

EG's growth as part of Wolves Esports

Fosun Sports Group, owners of the Wolves, are the ones behind the investment. They have valued EG at a massive $255 million. This puts the North American org near the top industry contendors such as FaZe Clan, 100 Thieves and Cloud 9.

Wolves made an announcement of their own via Twitter. Of course, this drew some interesting comments from their fans. However, the feedback was mostly positive with only some looking for guidance as to who Evil Geniuses are and what this news means for their team. It's clear the news is already bringing EG to new audiences all around the world. Wolves also have a Wolves Esports Twitter account specifically for their esports division.
