GDC 2025 location, dates, tickets, and details

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2025 event draws near. According to the official website, this conference features talks, networking opportunities, and more. However, where is the event's location, what does the schedule look like, and what is the cost of tickets? Let's take a look.

The upcoming GDC 2025 event takes place in San Francisco, CA at the Moscone Center between March 17 and March 21. It kicks off at either 9 a.m. PT or 9:30 a.m. PT as well. It depends on the day of the week.

For example, according to the agenda as of Feb. 21, the industry events begin bright and early at 9:30 a.m. PT on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. However, Wednesday and Friday both have on-site events kicking off even earlier at 9 a.m. PT. The full schedule can be accessed in the link below.

In terms of what to expect, on-site events range from lectures, roundtables, panels, and summits, workshops, and more. The schedule is organized by different tracks such as advocacy, education, design, game narrative, visual arts, and so on. Remember to take note of the eligible pass type while looking over these event as well.

You should take note of the different pass types because there are different tiers of GDC 2025 tickets. Tiers include All-Access, Core, Summits, Audio, Independent Games Summit, Expo, and Friday Only. The GDC All-Access 2025 pass is at the $2,299 price point, and this regular rate ends on March 15. The Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCA) happens on March 19 in the middle of the week as well. This event goes from 7:30 p.m. PT to 8:30 p.m. PT and features multiple awards such as Game of the Year, Best Design, Best Narrative, and more.

According to a recent announcement, Sam Lake, for example, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. He is known for his writing for games such as Alan Wake and Max Payne. Meanwhile, veteran designer and developer Lucas Pope will be honored with the Pioneer Award.

"The Game Developers Choice Awards has a proud legacy of shining the spotlight on figures who make gaming the most gripping and evocative method of storytelling,” GDC event director Stephenie Hawkins said. "We’re excited to recognize Sam Lake and Lucas Pope for their commitment to pushing the boundaries of the medium through transcendent narrative structures, complex moral questions and evocative gameplay."
