No that’s not Solid Snake!
Legendary game creator, Hideo Kojima, will not be playing the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, as per his new interview with Canadian luxury fashion company, SSENSE. For those unaware, Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of Kojima’s 2004 stealth-action game, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
The Japanese developer is currently enjoying the critical reception of its latest, massively ambitious title, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
He’s also been touring the world, as part of the Death Stranding World Strand Tour 2, to promote the new release and interact with the community, which all ties back to the game's recurring theme of connections.

Kojima isn't interested in MGS 3 remake, it seems

On being asked whether he would play the MGS 3 remake, Kojima laughed and simply said, “No, I won't.” It’s worth noting that Kojima isn't involved in this project in any capacity.
Upon its reveal, one of the things players noticed was the sheer absence of Kojima’s name in the trailer. Since then, Konami has published a story trailer and gameplay demonstrations of Metal Gear Solid Delta, none of which mention Kojima’s name in the credits.
It’s no secret that Kojima’s split with Konami wasn’t a pretty affair. If anything, it was the most dramatic and shocking breakups ever in the games industry. While Kojima might still be bitter at Konami, he probably isn't with his own creation, Metal Gear Solid.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is full of blatant references to Metal Gear Solid. One of the characters, Neil, wears a bandana on his head. It makes him look like a live-action replica of Solid Snake, the protagonist of the MGS series.

George Miller’s character, Tarman, compares his missing hand to something akin to Phantom Pain. There’s also a section where Sam reads Moby Dick. For those unaware, this is an obvious nod to Metal Gear Solid 5.
On the contrary, Kojima might skip the MGS 3 remake because he doesn’t play that many big-budget games. In the same interview, he expressed his disappointment regarding the state of the games industry.
He discussed how most of the games at this year’s Summer Games Fest showcase were visually and systematically similar looking. “A lot of people enjoy this, I understand, but it is important to put something really new in there for the industry,” he said.
