John Marston is coming to PC!

Rockstar Games' 2010 hit, Red Dead Redemption, is finally coming to PC. In an announcement on Tuesday, the company revealed an Oct. 29 release date for the long-awaited Windows port.

Originally released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game was re-released on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch last year. Similar to those ports, the PC version of Red Dead Redemption will also include Undead Nightmare, the game's Zombie-infestation companion story.

Developed in collaboration with Double Eleven, the PC port will include many added enhancements. Chief among them is the native support for 4K displays at up to 144hz. Alongside that, the game will also feature support for Ultrawide and Super-Ultrawide displays. To make sure more players than ever can experience the game, developers also built-in support for Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, and DLSS Frame Generation. All that should set up Red Dead Redemption on PC as a must-play for all gamers.

The game will be available for pre-purchase shortly across the Rockstar Store, Steam, and Epic Games. Further details, including pricing and minimum requirements, will be available later.

Red Dead Redemption is set across the American Southwest and Mexico. The story follows John Marston, a former outlaw and gang member who is forced into a government mission. In the game, Marston tracks down his former associates across three distinct territories to get rid of his past once and for all.

The 2010 release of Red Dead Redemption was a critical success, picking up numerous Game of the Year awards. Commercially, too, the game sold over 23 million copies. Red Dead Redemption 2 was an even bigger success and received its port to the PC in November 2019.
