Stellar Blade Uncensored Outfits added quietly in new update

Stellar Blade uncensored outfits have arrived, and they’re even spicier than the originals. It’s no wonder Shift Up added them secretly.

Stellar Blade developer Shift Up found an ingenious way to satisfy demands for uncensored outfits for EVE by slipping them in rather quietly to patch 1.003.

The official announcement of patch 1.003 focused on the addition of a Boss Challenge as well as three new outfits; the Neurolink Suit plus the White and Black Kunoichi. However, it is the addition of two other "bonus" outfits that have got fans applauding, even though the developer - rather smartly - did not directly announce them themselves.

As we reported on April 26, players were outraged at the unexpected censorship of several Stellar Blade outfits shortly after the game's release in Patch 1.002. Two outfits in particular were censored; EVE's Cybernetic Bondage Outfit and the Holiday Rabbit, with EVE's cleavage covered in the patch version. Now almost a month later, Shift Up have introduced two outfits very similar.. uncensored.

The two new Stellar Blade uncensored outfits are sold at Roxanne's shop as part of patch 1.003. They are called Midsummer Alice and Midsummer Redhood. Both outfits are more revealing than the original censored outfits and clearly designed to give fans exactly what they want: something sexy to wear on their adventures.

Interestingly, Shift Up did not mention the outfits at all in their official announcement. but instead retweeted users on Twitter/X who shared screenshots after discovering them in-game.

In terms of PR, it's a smart move. Shift Up delivers fanservice outfits while also not making it look like they're going against their official decision or their publisher and partner Sony. It's a win-win, and fans are definitely satisfied. What is more, a quick look at the new uncensored outfits shows they are in fact simply a twist on the original Cybernetic Bondage and Holiday Rabbit outfit.

The Midsummer Alice outfit for EVE is clearly inspired by the original design for the now "censored" Cybernetic Bondage outfit, except even more revealing with a lot of skin in show.

Out of all the Stellar Blade outfits, the Midsummer Alice is now probably the most revealing alongside the Skin Suit outfit.

The Midsummer Redhood is essentially a more risqué version of the original Holiday Rabbit outfit which became a hit with fans.

While she's lost the bunny ears and tail, EVE is instead wearing tights in the Midsummer Redhood outfit, her cleavage is no longer covered and a lot more skin is on show.

What's the context?

When the outrage of censorship was sparked at the end of April, many fans demanded Shift Up revert the outfits to their original versions. It was theorized the changes were made following pressure from publisher Sony, who had also become heavily involved in the latter stages of the development of the title.

However, the outfits remained censored. The only way to play in the original design was to own a physical copy of the game on PS5 and keep the game on version 1.00.

In version 1.003 of Stellar Blade, there are now both the original censored outfits and these two new uncensored outfits inspired by them. Everyone wins.
