Hearthstone Catch-Up Packs

In Hearthstone, each Catch-Up Pack contains up to 50 cards. The number of cards depends on the percentage of prior Standard expansion cards in a player's collection.

The first Catch-Up Packs pertain to the Showdown in the Badlands ones. These packs include cards from the Voyage to the Sunken City, Murder at Castle Nathria, March of the Lich King, Festival of Legends, and TITANS expansions.

This is because Catch-Up Packs help players catch up to the next expansion. Showdown in the Badlands is slated to launch on Nov. 14. Players can open these packs once the expansion arrives on that date.

How Catch-Up Packs work in Hearthstone

According to Blizzard, each Badlands Catch-Up Pack contains one to 10 cards from each of the five previous expansions. This totals five to 50 cards per pack. The number of cards is dependent on the percentage of cards a player has from that set.

  • 25% or less of that set = 10 cards from that set
  • 75% or more of that set = 1 card from that set
  • Between 25% and 75% completion = Scales with collection completion percentage

In terms of rarity, at least 20% of the cards in each Catch-Up Pack is of the rare variety or better. Meanwhile, all of the cards are normal. This means no golden versions.

As for legendary cards, a player is guaranteed one legendary in the first 50 cards from each expansion. This means a player can get five different legendary offering bonuses in these packs, Blizzard stated.

Moreover, 20 Catch-Up Packs can be opened at once.
