Hearthstone explores the StarCraft universe in 31.4 patch notes

The popular card game is taking on the StarCraft universe with new cards and more based on famous StarCraft characters. The new Heroes of StarCraft set is the game's largest Mini-Set ever, with four legendary cards, one epic card, 20 rare cards and 24 common cards.

The set has 49 new cards overall. Individual factions from the new StarCraft set are $9.99 or 1,200 gold. Get your wallets prepared!

New mythic hero skin added to Hearthstone: Queen of Blades

Sarah Kerrigan, the infamous Queen of Blades, is now a playable hero in Hearthstone. The new skin can be used by all Zerg classes.

All Zerg classes in Hearthstone:

  • Death Knights
  • Demon Hunters
  • Hunters
  • Warlocks

The fierce leader also comes with new emotes, special animations, and more.

New card updates

While it is only one card, Hearthstone has made an update to Ethereal Oracle in the new update. The popular card now requires four mana to play instead of three.

New in-game event

Hearthstone is also getting a new StarCraft in-game event, which will begin on Jan. 21 and end on Feb. 11. Players will have the opportunity to pick from one of three event tracks to compete for 13 card packs and a faction-specific skin.

Arena updates

Are you a Hearthstone Arena player? Well, Blizzard has made some updates to this game mode you may want to know about.

When 31.4 launches, all current Arena runs will end. This means that the new season of Arena will begin, so be prepared to start grinding.

Card pool sets in new season:

  • Voyage to the Sunken City
  • Murder at Castle Nathria
  • Whizbang’s Workshop
  • Perils in Paradise
  • The Great Dark Beyond (including Heroes of StarCraft)

A new Arena card, Wayward Probe, will also be added to the game mode.

Loaner deck updates

Loaner decks will also be getting an update when the new season begins. The new decks are meant to help players jump into the action despite not actually owning some of the new and best cards. Cards as new as The Great Beyond main set will be playable in these decks.

Return to Un'Goro in new February update

Beginning on Feb. 4, the Wonderful Un'Goro update will begin. This 30-card format will use the Wonders format, which is made up of the following sets:

  • Legacy
  • Curse of Naxxramas
  • Goblins vs Gnomes
  • Blackrock Mountain
  • The Grand Tournament
  • The League of Explorers
  • Whispers of the Old Gods
  • One Night in Karazhan
  • Mean Streets of Gadgetzan
  • Journey to Un’Goro
    • The Caverns Below is banned.
  • Caverns of Time
