A CaitVi leaked scene has surfaced, but is this the extended cut everyone wanted?

Arcane fans, particularly those for the Caitlyn-Vi pairing, are once again all on social media after a different version of the romantic CaitVi scene leaked online.

Did the CaitVi scene leak?

The short answer is... yes and no.

The long answer is that a "different" version of the final product that we saw on Netflix has surfaced on Chinese social media site Bilibili. Irony aside, seeing as Arcane was heavily censored in China, fans are hungry for new Arcane content ever since Riot has revealed that season 2 would be the end of the series.

Funnily enough, the scene leaked on Caitlyn's "birthday," or more accurately, her anniversary of joining League of Legends. Caitlyn was added as a playable champion on January 4th, 2011.

You can see the CaitVi scene leak below.

Let's break down the parts of the video one by one.

On the bottom-right corner is a split view. The top half is the final version that we saw on Netflix. The bottom split is the same scene with the same direction, but is rendered with no lighting. This is the same render quality that the initial Arcane Season 2 leaks had which came with the big Netflix leak.

While this may not be much at first glance, the lack of lighting, haze, and other effects gave viewers a clearer picture at the "action." The problem is that some of the more explicit scenes were blocked by an 18+ sticker, to the dismay of many.

Now the meaty part of the video: the "storyboard." It's slightly different than the other two versions, which should mean new Arcane content, but there's an issue. The video is watermarked to a "Cobra_Art" on Bilibili, sparking some contest on whether the storyboard is official or fan-made.

What is the extended CaitVi scene?

Shortly after Arcane Season 2 concluded, showrunner Christian Linke revealed that the intimate scene that we bore witness to was a "shorter" version due to rating concerns. This intrigued the CaitVi fans, even starting a Change.org petition to release the extended cut. This has garnered over 70,000 in just over a month.
