BLG knight acknowledges the team’s rough start but remains confident in their talent to pave the way to the LoL Worlds 2025 Playoffs.

Bilibili Gaming (BLG) had a rough start at the 2025 League of Legends Worlds, but their mid laner, Zhuo "knight" Ding, believes the team still has a lot to show and is more than ready for the challenges ahead. After losses to 100 Thieves and G2 Esports, BLG defeated VKS to keep their tournament hopes alive.

In an interview with esports.gg, BLG knight discussed his champion choices that helped BLG secure their spot in the tournament, how comfortable he feels on LeBlanc, potential opponents in the upcoming playoffs, and even shared a heartfelt message for fans who have continued to believe in BLG despite their early struggles.

BLG knight champion choices

At the LoL Worlds 2025, Ziggs hadn’t been seen in the mid lane until knight brought him back. As for LeBlanc, the champion now holds a 100% win rate across three games, with BLG knight joining G2 Caps and AL Shanks in securing victories on her.

Sofia: You experimented with Ziggs mid into Azir earlier this year, but eventually moved away from it. What made you decide to bring it back now, and how strong do you feel this pick is for you at the moment?

BLG knight: At the start of the year, I felt like Ziggs could be a pretty good counterpick against Azir. It worked well in lane, but later we realized that Azir can be really hard to deal with in teamfights, so we decided to stop using Ziggs for a while.

Now, in the current meta, Azir doesn’t have as much influence in teamfights, and I’m also very comfortable playing Ziggs, so that’s why I wanted to bring the champion back.

Sofia: In the second match, you brought out LeBlanc, a champion we haven’t seen much of this Worlds. She’s only been played twice so far. You really carried that game. What was the reason behind that pick?

BLG knight: The reason is pretty simple. I wanted to pick LeBlanc because, going up against K'Sante, their team composition was a bit hard to deal with. But with LeBlanc, I can always look for flashy plays and make good moves. I really trust my LeBlanc and have a lot of confidence in this champion.

Resetting after a rough start

Sofia: You’ve been absolutely smurfing this patch. How confident are you that the team can make it to the Playoffs?

BLG knight: Regardless of who we face, we’re 100% confident that we can beat them and qualify for the next stage.

Sofia: BLG had some struggles at the start of the tournament. Do you feel the team has fully reset and is ready for the upcoming matches?

BLG knight: I’d say we did have some problems as a team early on, but we worked hard to improve and fix them. We’ve also found some new issues we still need to address, so we’ll keep putting in more effort to solve them moving forward.

Sofia: After the loss to G2, you wrote online, "Trust me." Do you feel you’re giving your best to maintain your fans’ trust? Looking ahead, what areas do you think are the most important to improve?

BLG knight: I want to say that we really value our fans and have a lot of confidence in their support. I don’t always get the chance to share my thoughts, so I want to tell everyone that you can trust me. We’re going to give our all on stage and show a strong performance.

A Lol Worlds 2024 rematch?

Sofia: What was it like facing VKS Mireu in the mid lane?

BLG knight: Definitely, I want to give credit to Mireu. He played really well as a mid laner, and I have also faced him in Korean solo queue. For this game, we prepared carefully for him, especially by targeting his champion pool in drafts to ban certain champions and make our drafting more comfortable.

Sofia: In the next stage, you could face FLY, CFO, TES, MKOI, or most likely T1. Who would you rather go up against for a chance to qualify?

BLG knight: Definitely, among the teams in the 2-2 pool, T1 and TES are the ones we’d prefer to avoid. But personally, I wouldn’t mind facing T1. We feel like we’re not at our best form right now, and T1 isn’t performing at 100% either. So if we get the chance to face them, it would be interesting to see what happens. It seems like it could be a match between the two of us.

Sofia: In your current form, do you still see T1 as the biggest challenge for you at Worlds?

BLG knight: I think the main issue for our team is that we haven’t performed at our best. The key for us now is to really improve our performance, and after that, we’ll see which team could be our biggest threat.

The power of home support

Sofia: Does this tournament hold special meaning for you since you’re playing in your home country? How has the public support been for you?

BLG knight: Back in 2020, I also participated in the LoL Worlds here in China, but at that time, there was no audience in the arena. This time, having so many fans supporting us is incredible. It really motivates me to show my best on stage, and if we can get a victory here, I’ll feel even happier and more excited.

Sofia: What message do you want to leave to the fans? What message do you want to leave to the fans?

BLG knight: Thank you all for the support. I really appreciate it. We’re working hard to give our best and deliver a strong performance in the next match to qualify for the quarterfinals. We want to show you the very best of our team in the future.
