Three-time champion, Worlds 2025 Finals MVP, and “greatest ADC of all time” Gumayusi is parting ways with T1.

T1 is parting ways with three-time champion and "greatest ADC of all time," Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyung, the organization announced. Here's where Gumayusi is likely to end up, his message to fans, and what this means for bot-laners in the LCK.

T1 Gumayusi no more

The announcement made by T1 on their official social media pages quickly made the rounds. Many are still reveling in the fact that T1, and most of its roster, just completed the first-ever three-peat in LoL Esports history a few weeks ago. The same fanbase is now getting hit with the news that Gumayusi is no longer going to be with T1, and the post has garnered almost 2 million views in under an hour on X alone.

The announcement was accompanied by a video, simply titled "THANK YOU, LEE 'GUMAYUSI' MIN-HYUNG." Here, the three-time champion and Finals MVP talks about his time with T1, his motivations, and a message to his fans.

"I'll be leaving T1 and starting a new chapter, another journey to prove myself," said the AD carry. He also had a heartfelt message to his fans.

There were so many good times and a lot of hard ones too. But you still stood by me and loved me as T1's Gumayusi. For that, I'm extremely grateful. This news might feel disappointing, but I'll still be Gumayusi. I hope you'll keep rooting for me, all the way to the end.

Gumayusi to his fans

Where is Gumayusi heading?

As of the time of writing, neither he nor any org has confirmed his next destination. This is sure to be big news, especially since Gumayusi has been within the T1 system for the entirety of his professional League of Legends career.

Some of the top theories in the community have Gumayusi joining Hanwha Life Esports. This would reunite Guma with ex-T1 top laner Choi "Zeus" Woo-je, should the latter choose to extend his contract. As for his replacement, Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan seems to be the top candidate according to fans.

This is bound to cause mayhem in the LCK. Assuming the HLE rumor is true, then another great talent in Park "Viper" Do-hyeon becomes a hot commodity. In the case that it isn't, then orgs are surely clambering to sign Gumayusi on board.
