Riot Games has unveiled the upcoming Rain Shepherd skins for Tristana and Gwen, which will be released in patch 25.23.
Two beloved champions are joining the Rain Shepherd skin line, first introduced in 2024 with other League of Legends favorites. They will be released in-game in the upcoming patch notes.
Rain Shepherd skin line
Tristana and Gwen enter a new timeline inspired by nature and featuring frogs, peaceful environments, and vibrant water lilies. Originally, this universe was introduced in 2024 with Fizz and the recently released Milio as its main characters. Now, Gwen and Tristana will also join them in a parched world, devoid of water and song.
"Since the frogs lost the power to sing, the rains have slowed, and moisture is sparse. So frogs have taught a new group to sing: the Rain Shepherds. Creative process
Tristana’s artist, Terence Cantal (Riot Terry), shared a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process that led to the final, colorful, and adorable version of the skin. On X, Terry revealed that the team named some of the frogs in the splash art after its members: Layla, Mo, Jen, Bo, Julia, Rudy, Roanna, Fortune, Horace, and Alsie. The artist also shared a GIF showcasing the different stages of the artwork, from the initial sketch to the finished piece.
Riot Terry has also worked on other popular skins, such as Chosen of the Wolf Katarina, Exalted Spirit Blossom Morgana, Hall of Legends Immortalized Ahri, and the Mythic Variant Onsen Ahri.
Riot Fortune, the talented artist behind skins like Flora Fatalis Fiddlesticks, Spirit Blossom Springs Teemo, Arcane Professor Heimerdinger, and Faerie Court Lux, crafted the Rain Shepherd Gwen splash art.
Skins release
Rain Shepherd Tristana and Gwen are arriving in League of Legends with patch 25.23, which is scheduled for release on November 23. Moreover, this update will be one of the final patches of the year. Finally, both skins will cost 1,350 RP, which means they will be epic skins.
