Movistar KOI and G2 Esports head to MSI 2025 as representatives of the EMEA region. This sets up a potential rematch.
With the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI 2025) kicking off soon in Canada, fans are eager to see how the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) representatives will measure up. While Movistar KOI will enter the tournament as the LEC 2025 Spring Playoffs champion, G2 Esports will join as the runner-up.
Movistar KOI at MSI 2025
As the champions of the LEC 2025 Spring Playoffs, Movistar KOI will head into MSI 2025 in strong form. The team will begin directly in the Bracket Stage rather than the Play-In Stage. This stage will feature eight teams in total, including Gen.G, T1, CTBC Flying Oyster, Anyone's Legend, and FlyQuest. It will follow a double-elimination format and have best-of-five (Bo5) matches.

The winner will then take home the bulk of the $2,000,000 USD prize pool. Perhaps more importantly, however, the MSI 2025 champion will qualify for the 2025 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2025).
In addition to winning the LEC 2025 Spring Playoffs, Movistar KOI's other recent records show consistent top-four finishes. The team placed third in the Split 2 of the LEC 2025 Spring Season with a 6-3 record and secured fourth place in both the Split 1 of the LEC 2025 Winter Playoffs and Split 1 of the LEC 2025 Winter Season. This steady performance could add on to the team's momentum going into MSI 2025.
