After PSG Talon’s elimination by VKS at LoL Worlds 2025, Betty reflected on his performance and apologized to fans.

The first LoL Worlds 2025 elimination matches have knocked FNATIC and PSG Talon out of the tournament. After two challenging drafts and facing tough opponents like Gen.G and Hanwha Life, PSG Talon struggled to find an easy path in the competition. Going into their match against the Brazilian powerhouse Vivo Keyd Stars, they were the favorites, and most fans were rooting for them, but it wasn’t enough.

In an interview with esports.gg, Lu "Betty" Yu-Hung reflected on the team’s elimination, the mistakes that cost them their spot in the event, her experience playing alongside LoL legends, and much more.

The "last" last dance

The future of the PSG Talon roster is now uncertain. Four of the five players have contracts ending this year, meaning we could see significant changes in the coming months. One player, almost certainly, will be Huang "Maple" Yi-Tang, the legendary Taiwanese star who returned from retirement for his “last” last dance at LoL Worlds 2025.

As for Huang "Azhi" Shang-Jhih, Hung "Karsa" Hao-Hsuan, and Lu "Betty" Yu-Hung, their contracts expire in November 2025, leaving their future with the team up in the air. Lin "Woody" Yu-En is the only PSG Talon player with a contract extending until 2027. Can this roster, full of stars and legendary players, stay together until next season?

PSG Betty analyzes the team's performance against VKS

Sofia: From your perspective, what do you think was missing today?

PSG Betty: I feel like we didn’t execute our draft very well during some of the team fights. There were several moments where we used key abilities too early, yet still tried to force engagements or play aggressively. It feels like something was missing in our approach to this game.

Sofia: How did you prepare to play against VKS, a team you have never faced before?

PSG Betty: This is just part of the overall process, considering everything from strategy and execution to understanding the meta and the opponent’s strengths. Now that it’s a best-of-three, we have a lot to think about. We banned the champions they’re better with, and we’ve already watched their previous game videos to prepare, but it was not enough.

Sofia: How do you evaluate your own performance in today’s series? Do you think the issues were more related to the team’s synergy during the tournament?

PSG Betty: I don’t think the issue was about the team’s synergy during the tournament. I believe it was more about building that synergy ahead of time. I think engaging in more team fights is a good idea, as it helps us improve our coordination and decision-making.

Playing with legends

Sofia: Reflecting on your performance today, despite the result not meeting your expectations, what are you most pleased with about how you played?

PSG Betty: I feel like I’ve already adjusted my form a bit. The way you play daily and how you perform in official matches, especially on the international stage, really depends on how your opponents play. It’s important to stay mentally strong and prepare well through daily scrims. If we had done that more consistently, the results might have been better. Mentality is really important when it comes to official matches because they’re very different from regional tournaments.

Sofia: Being back on the Worlds stage is always a big deal. How does it feel to play alongside such experienced teammates, like Karsa and Maple?

PSG Betty: I think it was an excellent competition and a great opportunity to play with such a talented team. It felt like a real chance to win the tournament. I’m very happy to have played with them again, since we were teammates before and already have that connection. It’s just a pity that we weren’t able to fully showcase our abilities or achieve the result we were aiming for.

Sofia: What message do you want to leave the fans who continue supporting PSG?

PSG Betty: I honestly don’t know what to say. I just feel really sorry for our fans.

Sofia: What are your plans now? Are you going to take some time off to rest and be with your family, or will you jump straight back into training?

PSG Betty: We need to find a place so we can get back to training. I think we’ll just keep going from here.
