Another day, another change coming to League of Legends. The honor capsules and orbs will be removed from the game in the next weeks.

First the Hextech chests and now the honor capsules and orbs? Yes, Riot Games will also remove the honor rewards for the players with positive in-game behavior. Now, they will be different. Let's dive into it.

Honor capsules and orbs

They slightly changed throughout the seasons, but normally the honor orbs gave you key fragments (to open Hextech chests that no longer exist in the game and won't come back as the developers announced), some champion shards, usually lower-cost, and sometimes even ward skins or blue essence. The honor capsules, at honor level three or above, gave you better rewards.

The champion shards had higher values giving you often 4800 or above blue essence champs as well as exclusive honor skins (like Gray Warwick and Medieval Twitch), honor five tokens, and sometimes even random ward skins.

New rewards

Don't get your hopes very high with the new rewards. Players will no longer get capsules or orbs, instead, they will earn Battle Pass XP. If you still have Honor capsules or orbs in your inventory when Riot removes them, they will likely be automatically opened and their contents granted to your account.

After a lot of new updates coming alongside the new season, Riot Games has already announced changes to the Battle Pass as well. In the first developers' update of 2025, the company revealed plans to improve the battle pass missions and skins.

To be more friendly with new players, the Battle Pass will now reward the champion of the respective skins. Those won't be as "strict" as the season theme to guarantee more variety as well.

According to the developers, there will be also changes to the missions to make them easier to do and progress faster in the Battle Pass. Right now, the 2025 first season Noxian-theme Battle Pass is up so don't forget to complete your quests and win some rewards.
