Violet, now known as Vi to many, is one of Arcane’s many protagonists. In Season 2, we see her story explored even further.
Arcane Season 2 continues the story of Violet, more known as Vi. She's a "punch first, ask questions while punching" kind of person, but who is she beneath the aggression and oversized Atlas Gauntlets? Learn more about Vi's character in Arcane and League of Legends here.
Vi in Arcane Season 2
In Arcane Season 2, Vi has accepted that her sister, Powder, is lost in Jinx. The tipping point was Jinx's attack on the Councilors which resulted in multiple casualties, including Cassandra Kiramman, Caitlyn's mother.
Seeing the effect of Jinx's terroristic actions on her "cupcake," Vi decides to join the Enforcers. This earned her an updated version of the Atlas Gauntlets from Jayce. Her relationship with Caitlyn deepens near the end of Act 1, with the two even sharing a passionate kiss.
However, the delight of Caitvi (or Violyn?) shippers was short-lived as the two separate ways. Caitlyn would don the title of Commander, and Vi goes back to Zaun where she eventually finds herself as a competitor in underground fights.

Vi in Arcane
At the beginning of Arcane Season 1, Vi is a confident, brash teenager. Violet and her sister Powder grew up with Vander, the Hound of the Underground, as a father figure after they were orphaned by the conflict between Undercity and Piltover. They earned two siblings in the interim: Mylo and Claggor.
Vander's adoptive children would eventually part ways in Arcane Season 1 Act 1. Mylo and Claggor cross over to the great beyond, Powder is left under Silco's care, and Vi is taken in by an Enforcer. In Act 2, it's revealed that she spent her years inside Stillwater Hold, a prison complex reserved for the most vile criminals that Zaun and Piltover have to offer. She hinted at abuse by the wardens, which made her wary when Enforcer Caitlyn Kiramman knocked on her jail cell.
The two reach a common ground, and Vi serves as Caitlyn's guide as they search for Jinx together. The two grow intimately closer through their interactions, but the development of their relationship did not reach a satisfying conclusion in Season 1 (apart from a cute pet name: Cupcake). Through their adventures together, she meets Jayce Talis. She acquires the Atlas Gauntlets from his workshop without Jace's explicit consent. It was initially made to aid miners, but they fit Vi's brawler personality like a glove.
At the end of Season 1, she was kidnapped by Jinx and, failing to sate her sister's craze, watched her bomb the Piltover Council.

Vi in League of Legends and lore
Vi was released as a playable champion in League of Legends back in 2012. Her basic abilities have also stayed mostly the same since that time. She plays as a bruiser in the jungle, using her Atlas Gauntlets to start and end fights. She can also keep brawls going, thanks to her dash and a point-and-click ability to lock down a single enemy.
The playable version of Vi is an Enforcer, which reflects her affiliation with them in Arcane Season 2 Act 1. This may also hint at her return to being an officer in blue, seeing as her belle is now a commander. The two have some reconciling to do, though.
