The M7 World Championship Swiss Stage opens with intense regional clashes, including TLPH vs Aurora Gaming PH and SRG.OG and CG Esports.

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M7 World Championship Swiss Stage Group Draw showed some interesting matchups for Round 1. Two regions will see their own representatives collide from the very start. The draw results see Philippine representatives Team Liquid PH (TLPH) facing Aurora Gaming PH, while Malaysia’s SRG.OG goes up against CG Esports. Early momentum is crucial in the Swiss format. This means the opening matchups could shape the trajectory of each team’s campaign.

The M7 Press Conference and Draw Ceremony stream revealed the matchups for the first round of the Swiss Stage. Rather than a gentle warm-up in the opening, fans will be treated to a heated matchup between regional rivalries.

TLPH vs Aurora Gaming PH

Among the headliners are Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 16 champion Team Liquid PH and runner-up Aurora Gaming PH. The grand finale of the local event was rather anticlimactic.

Aurora had a great run back in Season 16, racking up win streaks and staying in the upper bracket playoffs. However, just when everyone expected to have a long, intense match, TLPH finished the grand finals with a 4-0 sweep

With the two meeting up immediately on Swiss Stage Round 1, it’s either going to be a redemption arc for Aurora or just another MLBB match for TLPH.

SRG.OG vs CG Esports

SRG.OG is on a roll in MPL Malaysia (MY). They earned their fourth consecutive championship trophy in Season 16, proving just how unstoppable they are. In the grand finals, SRG.OG left no room for doubt, dismantling CG Esports in a dominant 4-0 clean sweep.

For CG Esports, that loss was a harsh introduction to the MPL Malaysia spotlight. Season 16 was their debut in the big leagues. Reaching the grand finals was already a massive achievement. However, receiving a clean sweep loss against the defending champions left unfinished business. It looks like the debutants will have their own revenge match early on the world stage.
