Overwatch is coming to mobile sometime in the future.

Mobile gaming has been huge since the release of the first smartphone, but who would have ever thought we would be playing games like Overwatch on our mobile devices? Well, with Fortnite, Call of Duty and other games having mobile platforms, it should not come as a surprise.

The popular shooter game Overwatch has been confirmed to be in development. Here is everything we know so far.

Overwatch Mobile in development; Confirmed by Bloomberg reporter

Bloomberg reporter, Jason Schreier, confirmed the development of Overwatch Mobile in his latest book, Place Nice: The Rise, Fall and Future of Blizzard Entertainment.

The book was made up of over 300 interviews with different Blizzard employees, some current and some former. The book revealed various Overwatch plans that were scrapped, such as a Netflix series. However, Overwatch Mobile will happen.

“Overwatch was led by Walter Kong, who oversaw the release of regular heroes and content for Overwatch 2, as well as new projects like a mobile version of the franchise," said Schreier in his book.

So, when will the mobile version of the popular shooter game be released? Will it be anytime soon?

Release date

At the moment, there is no confirmation of a release date. In fact, how far the game is in development is unknown. Regardless, it is being worked on and will hopefully be released sometime in the future, if it is not scrapped.

With Activision's success with Call of Duty Mobile and Warzone Mobile, the chances of an Overwatch Mobile being scrapped are unlikely. However, the success of the game is still in question.
