“Whoever updated that liquidpedia can update it again now that CEO is no longer the only tournament a player had to payout instead.”

After duking it out against other Mortal Kombat 1 players at CEO 2024, "Alex Dyloch" Ruiz came out on top! Although he earned the lion's share of the prize pool, he had to pay the tournament instead. Here are the details.

Dyloch breaks light in CEO 2024 MK1 Winners Finals

During the CEO 2024 Mortal Kombat 1 Winners Finals, Dyloch faced Rewind. When Dyloch won the match and advanced to the Grand Finals, he got up from his seat and tossed his chair aside. The crowd roared for his victory and how he popped off. However, the chair toss damaged an expensive light fixture.

"If one more person pops off throwing anything you will be banned from any event I ever do," Alex Jebailey, the founder of the fighting games event, stated on social media. "This is a final warning to anyone in the future. Do not throw things."

According to Jebailey, this fixture cost $2,992. As the champion of Mortal Kombat 1 at CEO 2024, Dyloch's winnings amounted to $565. The fixture's cost is over five times as much as his winnings.

Dyloch and CEO 2024 resolve incident

Fortunately, both Dyloch and Jebailey worked it out. The total cost for the repair is $365.44, and Dyloch took full responsibility for it. Meanwhile, Jebailey stated that he's glad the light fixture didn't require a full replacement.

"So he’s all good in my book and I hope it’s a lesson learned," Jebailey continued. "You should only pop off in grand finals, not winners. Whoever updated that liquidpedia can update it again now that CEO is no longer the only tournament a player had to payout instead."

He added that hype moments are great, but just not with items that could hurt others.
