What to expect in the game

Mortal Kombat 1 literally ushers in a new era of familiar characters. This is because Liu Kang became a Keeper of Time after a fight for Kronika's Hourglass. When this item ripped the fabric of time, it allowed Liu Kang to restart history.

For example, in the Mortal Kombat 1 universe, Sub-Zero and Scorpion are brothers. Meanwhile, Smoke is also in the picture and part of the Lin Kuei. Smoke can even confront Liu Kang about turning him into an orphan.

Additionally, in one possible cutscene, Liu Kang and Kitana reunite, with the former character explaining the creation of multiple timelines.
