The slasher’s Fatality is GRUESOME!
Mortal Kombat 1's Khaos Reigns expansion is mere days away from release. With it, players will get their hands on Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot as playable characters alongside the extended story. Although the announced guest characters will not be available at launch, the most recent trailer gave fans a taste of what Ghostface has to offer as a Mortal Kombat character. Let's say it does not disappoint.
Ghostface brings the classic slasher brutality to Mortal Kombat
The latest Khaos Reigns trailer showcased more than most would expect, teasing a new game mode and revealing more Animalities. However, Ghostface's unexpected appearance to close the trailer became the highlight. Fans were blessed with the slasher icon's gruesome Fatality, featuring not one but two Ghostface characters in proper Scream form.
In the Fatality, Ghostface 1 plunges the classic hunting knife into Sub-Zero's gut, ripping out some intestines. While attempting to flee, Sub-Zero runs into Ghostface 2, who appears in an eye reflection before the two Ghostfaces send Sub-Zero to a graphic demise.
Finally, to cap off the finishers, the two characters turn to Sub-Zero and wipe their blades, putting a bow on an incredibly well-designed Fatality. It's campy fun without question, perfect for Ghostface in a Mortal Kombat game.

Who is Ghostface in MK1?
Now that we know NetherRealm Studios remained faithful to the character by having two instead of only one, the question remains: Who is Ghostface? Unfortunately, there is no answer to this question yet. It's unclear whether Warner Bros. only has the rights to the costume or the actual movie character.
We probably won't see the mask come off the character if it's the former. Otherwise, the most likely outcome is the pair of Billy Loomis and Stu Macher from the first Scream film don the mask in Mortal Kombat 1.
When is Ghostface joining Mortal Kombat 1?
While there's no confirmed release date for Ghostface yet, we can surmise that this will be the first of three guest characters to arrive in Khaos Reigns. Halloween is also rapidly approaching, so it's reasonable to assume that we could see Ghostface land in MK1 sometime in October. However, we must wait for more information after Khaos Reigns lands on Sept. 24.
