Another legend has moved on from Overwatch 2.

William "Crimzo" Hernandez, the coach of ENCE, has announced his retirement from competitive Overwatch 2. Although there wasn't a full statement or TwitLonger, he announced simply that he's finally moving on from the game. He's been on quite the journey as both a player and a coach, so it was a sad but well-earned finale to his career.

Crimzo retires from competitive Overwatch 2

Crimzo's career officially started way back in 2018 with his addition to the third iteration of the Kungarna roster. From there, he moved around to EnVision and Team Envy in 2019 where he truly made a name for himself. The support player gained a lot of notoriety in 2019, as this iteration of Team Envy seemed unstoppable after claiming both Overwatch Contenders 2019 Season 1 and 2 North American championships. Not to mention a runner-up finish in the same year's Atlantic Showdown.

From there, he transitioned to the Overwatch League, bouncing around various teams like Dallas Fuel in 2020, the Houston Outlaws in 2021, Boston Uprising in 2022, and more. Eventually, Crimzo found himself at O3 Splash, but that didn't last long. The team disbanded only a month after bringing him on. However, that wasn't the end for the Canadian player.

He transitioned from player to coach on various rosters and eventually make his way to ENCE. Under the new banner and with a new role, he led ENCE to multiple top finishes in the European region. Runner up finishes at OWCS EMEA Stage 1 and 2, and FACEIT League Season 1. However, despite the amazing performances of ENCE, they placed poorly at the Esports World Cup due to a early loss against Crazy Raccoon.

It seems like that was the final nail in the coffin for Crimzo. As soon after, he announced his retirement on X. Although it's unfortunate to see such a legendary and iconic player like Crimzo leave, his legacy will live on.
