Overwatch Season 1 will feature the Celestial Guardian Mercy mythic skin, a mythic Mei skin, plus Juno’s Star Shooter.

Overwatch Season 1 draws near, and ahead of the Feb. 10 release date, Blizzard Entertainment gave players a preview of what to expect in terms of new mythic skins. This year's Season 1 mythic hero skin will go to Mercy. Juno will also have a mythic weapon skin to kick everything off. Then, the mid-season will feature Mei's first-ever hero mythic. Some players are unhappy about the distribution of mythics.

Overwatch Season 1 mythic skins

According to Blizzard Entertainment, every Overwatch season in 2026 will bring about two new mythic hero skins. While Season 1 will feature Celestial Guardian Mercy and the Mei mythic, future seasons will add ones for Illari, Mauga, and Soldier: 76.

More mythic weapon skins in addition to Juno's Star Shooter from Season 1 will be released in the future as well. These will go to Genji, Hanzo, and Sojourn.

Overwatch gets another Mercy mythic skin

Interestingly, Mercy already has mythic hero skin. It's Vengeance Mercy, which first appeared in Overwatch 2 Season 10 -- prior to Blizzard Entertainment dropping the "2" in the game's title and resetting the seasons.

While some players expressed delight about a Mercy mythic, other players criticized Mercy getting a second hero mythic. On X, users argued that it's unfair for her to get another mythic before other heroes have received their first. Users also noted that heroes such as Lucio, Brigitte, and Venture have yet to receive mythic skins.

Similar sentiments appeared on Reddit. "I mean, it's a nice skin and all, but Mercy getting a second mythic before half the roster has even gotten one is pretty bullshit," user -ImJustSaiyan- stated. "And I say that as someone who actually enjoys playing her."

More Overwatch Season 1 skins

In addition to the aforementioned mythic skins, Overwatch will soon get ones from the Hello Kitty collaboration. This collection will include Hello Kitty Juno, Kuromi Widowmaker, Keroppi Lucio, Pompompurin Mercy, Cinnamoroll Kiriko, and My Melody D.Va.

"Skins have always been a hot topic for Overwatch, and our artists have been heating things up this year (not an Anran reference). Tied to The Reign of Talon, Season 1 will have faction-themed skins, in addition to new bundles themed after vibes like rainy days and the sweetness of Valentines Day," Blizzard Entertainment stated.

Additionally, with Overwatch's refresh of the loot box pool, players will soon have the chance to unlock regular shop skins from the past six seasons.

"Now this doesn't include things like collabs or mythics, but you can get DokiWatch skins," character artist Melissa Kelly added.
