Overwatch 2 Season 19 will soon celebrate Halloween with the brand-new Haunted Masquerade game mode! Here’s how it works and more.

Haunted Masquerade isn't just the name of Overwatch 2 Season 19. It's a brand-new game mode that lets you wear masks of different heroes. Read on for what to expect during the Overwatch 2 Haunted Masquerade event plus a preview of how the masks in the game mode works.

Overwatch 2 Haunted Masquerade

In Overwatch 2, Haunted Masquerade is a Halloween game mode that lets you use special abilities based on your chosen hero mask. Once you enter the spawn room, simply walk up to a mask and put it on. If you put on Zenyatta's mask, for example, then you get a mini Orb of Harmony for an extra bit of healing.

Some of these hero and mask combinations even pay tribute to the game's lore. That is, Reinhardt's mask normally gives you extra armor and increased melee damage. However, if you're Brigitte with the Reinhardt mask, then she can increase the size of their shields!

Additionally, based on the Season 19 trailer, the latest key art, the roadmap, and our own knowledge of Overwatch 2's lore, we can also infer that other possible combinations include Hanzo and Genji, Roadhog and Junkrat, Mei and Juno, Reaper and Moira, plus Winston and Tracer.
