Overwatch 2 story timeline coming soon

In a video, narrative lead Miranda Moyer revealed that Overwatch 2 Season 19's mid-season update will introduce a brand-new feature. This feature will showcase the Overwatch franchise's short stories, motion comics, video vignettes, and other narrative pieces, giving folks who love the story and lore a more immersive experience.

"Hi everyone, as you've heard, there are some super cool things coming to Season 19," Moyer said. "I'm here to tell you about something in [the] mid-season that's been a long time coming -- a brand-new feature that's going to make Overwatch 2 even more immersive for all of you story and lore lovers out there. Later in Season 19, you'll be able to access Overwatch story and lore in-game."

According to Moyer, the Overwatch 2 team has been making some big moves with the story lately. And as those moves continue, the team would like players to have a central place to easily access new content.

"Whether you're a longtime fan who's been following the story since day one, or you're brand new and wanting to keep up with our story, this will be your new best friend," Moyer added.

In terms of what to expect, Moyer revealed that the Overwatch content will be organized by season. This will give players an organized look of the story as it unfolds. Interestingly, players will also be able to see timelines for upcoming content releases.

"The content will be outlined by season, giving you an organized look at the story of Overwatch as it develops over time. Plus, you'll be able to see some of the timelines of when upcoming content is slated to release," Moyer said.

Right now, players can already check out the latest lore-related videos through Overwatch 2's main menu. Folks can access hero lore, faction information, and cutscenes via the Story Missions introduced back in Season 6, too.
