Summer Games 2024 returns to Overwatch 2 in Season 11

Season 11 will be coming to Overwatch 2 beginning on June 20, and the Summer Games event will officially kick off on July 9. This is a seasonal game mode that long-time Overwatch fans will know, which features unique game modes like Lucioball and volleyball. In each of these, players will compete with Overwatch 2 heroes in different sports to celebrate the Olympics happening in Paris this summer.

You can learn more about this in the Overwatch 2 Season 11 announcement trailer. The Summer Games portion begins at 2:10.

The trailer did not confirm whether or not the renewal of the Summer Games will feature Copa Lucioball, the competitive version of the soccer-style game mode, so fans will have to wait a bit to find that out.

However, despite that, there is so much to love about the upcoming season, which will feature a litany of new changes and updates including a new free-to-earn Sombra skin, a Transformers collaboration, and a Battle Pass filled with some amazing lifeguard skins and an all-new Ashe mythic skin, Calamity Empress. Players will have plenty of time to begin earning all of these rewards before the Summer Games arrive on July 9.
