Here’s a quick look at a possible Gen 2 set that Pokémon TCG Pocket fans have been waiting for.

Centro LEAKS recently posted a video of what seems to be a trailer for a new set for Pokémon TCG Pocket, which features the two version mascots of Gen 2 games, Ho-oh and Lugia.

According to several reports spreading online, Canale Pokémon Italiano Ufficiale, or the Official Italian Pokémon Channel, allegedly uploaded the video trailer by accident, and it’s now been deleted since.

The trailer showcased a set called “Lavia del cielo e del mare,” which translates to “The Path of the Sky and the Sea.” While the name sounds a bit long for a Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion, it's likely that if this leak is real, the official English title will be shorter and closely aligned with that translation.

Looking at the trailer again, we’ll see the set’s focal Legendaries, Ho-Oh ex and Lugia ex, both having 150 HP. Despite being a Fire-type card, Ho-Oh ex only has a move that costs three Colorless Energy and does 80 damage. Lugia ex also boasts a move that deals the same amount of damage, but it requires three types of Energy (Fire, Water, and Lightning).

Here’s a rough translation of Ho-Oh ex and Lugia ex’s moves:

  • Ho-Oh ex’s Phoenix Turbo: Take a Grass Energy, a Water Energy, and a Lightning Energy from your Discard Pile and attach them to your Basic Pokémon in any way you like.
  • Lugia ex’s Elemental Fury: Discard a Fire Energy, a Water Energy, and a Lightning Energy from this Pokémon.

Judging by the moves of these Pokémon, it looks like they might struggle to compete in the current meta. So, if they’re the real deal, we might also get other cards in the set that might give those moves some purpose.

Other cards revealed in the leak

We also got a sneak peek at some of the Johto Pokémon included in the set. Right after showing Ho-oh ex and Lugia ex, the three Johto starters, Chikorita, Totodile, and Cyndaquil, were also added to the mix, together with a Cleffa, a full-art Pichu, a Shiny Gyarados, and new ex variants of Umbreon and Espeon.

Lastly, the trailer shared four Trainer cards, two of which are Supporters. Unfortunately, due to the low quality of the leaked video, we weren’t able to gather any more information about them.

Whether this leak is real or not, recent trends suggest that a new Pokémon TCG set is on the horizon, and we’ll likely see a trailer for it either by late July or sometime during the first week of August.
