You can now join Raids direct from your Friends list in Pokémon GO.

Pokémon GO Trainers can now join their friends Raids directly from the Friends List after a new update. This amazing quality of life adjustment hugely increases how easy it is for people to join Raids, without having to be sent an invite.

This update comes just in time for a huge weekend of Pokémon GO Raid action. Saturday and Sunday see the Pokémon GO: Wild Area global event. There are a huge range of Pokémon in Raids, including Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia and Primal Groudon and Kyogre.

Niantic have removed the remote Raid limit across the weekend, so feel free to jump into any of your friends Raids!

You can now join your friends Raids via the Friends List in Pokémon GO

To take advantage of the new feature, simply head to your Friends List in Pokémon GO. There you will see a new search category that will bring anyone currently in a Raid to the top of your Friends List. From there you can click to join the Raid, just like when you get an invitation.

This will of course use a Remote Raid Pass. You'll need one in your Inventory, as well as not having used all your Remote Raids for the day.

New feature will make filling lobbies easier

The main advantage of being able to join your friends Raids in Pokémon GO is how much easier it will be to fill up a lobby. Currently, through invites, you have to work out or remember which players do remote Raids. You can send invites that simply get ignored.

Or, if you are at the lower end of the alphabet you probably don't get that many invites. The search filters remain alphabetical, so those earlier in the alphabet tend to get invited more. Now, you can simply join your friends without needing an invite at all.
