Get ready Anaheim and San Francisco!

The dates and locations for both the 2025 and 2026 Pokémon World Championships have been unveiled. These announcements came as part of a flurry of reveals at the end of the 2024 World Championships that took place in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The next two Pokémon World Championships will be as follows:

  • 2025 Pokémon World Championships, Anaheim, August 15-17.
  • 2026 Pokémon World Championships, San Francisco, August 28-30.

That will mean that (at least) three World Championships will have been held in the United States by the end of 2026.

2025 Pokémon World Championships to be held in Anaheim

The 2025 World Championships will be held in Anaheim, California between August 15-17. The exact venue for the event has not yet been confirmed. Anaheim is an exciting city to visit, with the city being home to Disneyland California.

Details are thin on the ground, but expect the usual Worlds experience. A pinnacle of the year-long competitions in GO, TGC, VGC, Unite and more. Could we see the first ever TGCPocket World Champion be crowned? There will also be exclusive merchandise in the events Pokémon Centre, special Pokémon GO spawns and a range of other things to do.

Of course, besides Disneyland, Anaheim has an amazing beach and sports arenas to help pad out your trip. Stay tuned for ticket details.

Then the World Championships are heading to San Francisco in 2026

Why stop at one announcement when you can have two? The World Championships in 2026 will be headed again to California, this time visiting the iconic city of San Francisco. This event will take place over two years from now, between August 28 and 30, 2026.

If you fancy a trip to the home of the Golden Gate Bridge, given how far away this event is, don't expect any real details for probably at least a year. However, you can at least try and find a Hotel and book some time off work (as well as start saving up!) with plenty of notice. By 2026 could we have not one, but two new Pokémon games?
