It would seem as if various leaks point to Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green, the first ever remakes within the franchise, will be getting a Switch port.
It is a big day for Pokémon fans, as reputable leakers have been spreading the news that Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green, the first-ever Pokémon remakes, will be headed to Switch this year.
Here is everything we know.
Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green to get Switch ports via leaks
Back in 2004, Pokémon released its first-ever remakes, Fire Red and Leaf Green, which brought players back to the historical Kanto region, giving them the responsibility of once again facing off against Team Rocket.
Well, with the 30th anniversary of Pokémon almost here, one leaker has announced that both Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green will be returning. Riddler_Khu, known for his accurate Pokémon leaks in the past, took to Twitter to tell people that the two games will be returning soon.
This would be a huge deal for the Pokémon community, as these two games are among the franchise's most popular remakes. So, what other information do we know? Well, various other leakers jumped in to give information, but this is all just speculation.
Release date
While an actual release date has not been announced, many leakers speculate that the games will release on Pokémon Day after the big presentation. When is Pokémon Day? The holiday takes place on February 27 every year, and Pokémon always holds an event to celebrate, announcing new games, TCG packs and more.
Remake or port?
The big question people have been asking is whether or not this is a remake or a port. It would seem incredibly unlikely for ANOTHER Kanto remake, as we also have Let’s Go Eevee and Let’s Go Pikachu.

That being said, many have already confirmed that it will be a port, and it will not be available on Nintendo Switch Online, but instead a separate purchase through the Nintendo eShop, with Home compatibility.
It would also more than likely be available for both the original Switch and Switch 2, considering it is not too hefty game.
