The Pokémon franchise’s newest title, Pokémon Pokopia, is set to release in just a few weeks, and many are already predicting it to be one of the franchise’s biggest games in Pokémon history. So, when does Pokémon Pokopia release?
Here is what we know about the game, including a release date.
Pokémon Pokopia release date
Pokémon Pokopia is set to release on March 5, 2026. The game will be a Switch 2 exclusive and will feature various Pokémon for players to add to their island, including the original 150.
The game takes place in a post-apocolytpic Kanto, where you must rebuild the region, creating your very own world and more. The game will also feature a storyline, meaning Pokémon Pokopia will be more than just building your own world.

You play as a Ditto who is disguised as a human, as you work with other Pokémon to rebuild the region to what it once was. This is a brand new style for the Pokémon franchise, marking a new era for Nintendo gamers. Its combination of Minecraft and Animal Crossing styles brings together multiple fan bases, fusing them with the world of Pokémon.
How much will Pokémon Pokopia cost?
Pokémon Pokopia will approximately cost $69.99 USD and will be available both digital in the Nintendo eShop and as a physical copy. The game can currently be pre-ordered at GameStop, Amazon and other major retailers.

The game is one of the first titles to release in 2026, marking the company’s 30th anniversary. However, despite Pokémon Pokopia exciting fans everywhere, we still have Gen 10 to look forward to, the ports for Fire Red and Leaf Green and many other huge Pokémon announcements.
Pokémon fans will be eating this year, and Pokémon Pokopia is just the beginning. Are you planning on purchasing the upcoming title?
