PUBG MOBILE announces 2025 esports updates, including changes to the esports calendar and the host countries for three international events.

PUBG MOBILE announced its 2025 esports plans during Day 2 of the 2024 PMGC on December 7, revealing the three host countries for its global events: PMGO, PMWC, and PMGC. James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports at Level Infinite, Tencent Games, also shared updates about changes to the 2025 esports calendar format.

2025 esports calendar

The 2025 PUBG MOBILE esports calendar will undergo minor adjustments compared to 2024, with the PMSL reduced from three seasons to two.

  • Spring: 2025 PMGO qualifications → 2025 PMGO
  • Summer: 2025 PMSL Summer Regional Qualifier → 2025 PMSL Summer → 2025 PMWC
  • Fall: 2025 PMSL Fall Regional Qualifier → 2025 PMSL Fall
  • Winter: 2025 PMGC

The calendar also includes sustainable local official and third-party tournaments, such as the Ruthless Pro Series: Clash of Giants.

Each participating country in PUBG MOBILE regional tournaments will be grouped into five regions:

  • Southeast Asia (SEA): Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.
  • Europe (EU): East Europe, Turkey, and others.
  • Middle East and North Africa (MENA): Egypt, Iraq, KSA, MENA Wildcard.
  • Central, South Asia (CSA): Bangladesh, Central Asia Wildcard, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Uzbekistan.
  • North and South America (Americas): Brazil, LATAM, North America.

As in previous years, South Korea, Japan, and China will host their own separate regional tournaments.

2025 PMGO in Uzbekistan

For the first time in PUBG MOBILE history, the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) tournament will be open to all players, not just professional teams. The event will take place in Uzbekistan from March to April, allowing participation from players across all regions.

Players ranked in the Top 500 of Ultimate Royale mode will be granted the privilege to skip the first round of the online qualifier. Further details on tournament qualifications will be announced later.

2025 PMWC in Riyadh: Collaboration with EWC

The 2025 PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) will continue its collaboration with the Esports World Cup (EWC), marking the fourth year of partnership since 2022 (previously between PMWI and Gamers8). The mid-season tournament will again be hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In March 2024, Level Infinite, publisher of PUBG MOBILE and Honor of Kings, announced a three-year partnership with EWC, securing PMWC's inclusion until 2026. PUBG MOBILE is also the ninth title confirmed for the 2025 EWC.

2025 PMGC in Thailand

The grand finals of the most prestigious PUBG MOBILE tournament, the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC), will be held in Thailand for the first time. In previous years, PMGC took place in the UAE (2020), Indonesia (2022), Turkiye (2023), and England (2024).

PMGC is PUBG MOBILE’s largest international tournament, featuring 49 teams competing for a $3,000,000 prize pool over five weeks in 2024 PMGC. As the 2025 host country, Thailand will receive one direct invite to the PMGC grand finals.
