This spring, Rainbow Six delivers a blast of an Operation! You can join the Silent Hunt and control the new stealth master, Solid Snake himself. Year 11 in general looks quite exciting: we already know some key details.
The Six Invitational stage is a traditional opportunity for the Rainbow Six Siege X developers to reveal their plans: for esports and content seasons.
R6 Siege X unleashes an epic collaboration — with the Metal Gear Solid series, as Solid Snake becomes the next operator. He joins the game with a special Operation, bringing a new game mode, story elements, and a signature weapon.
Silent Hunt: Solid Snake is a new R6 Siege X operator
On March 3, Operation Silent Hunt starts in Rainbow Six Siege X. Even the name hints at the stealth abilities of the new permanent operator, Solid Snake.
You can unlock the Metal Gear Solid character and some cosmetic items via R6 Operation Silent Hunt Battle Pass.
- Solid Snake
- The TACIT .45 pistol as a secondary weapon
- Black Ice weapon skins
- Psycho Mantis outfit for Smoke
R6 Solid Snake's ability, gadget, and loadout
The On-Site Procurement ability of Solid Snake in R6 Siege X allows this operator to have five secondary gadgets at the same time, such as smoke, stun, and frag grenades. They are not equipped from the round start, though.
First, Snake needs to eliminate opponents and get a dropped utility pounch. As the round progresses, Snake can accumulate one gadget from five available categories.
Primary gadget
The Solution Radar MKIII is a unique gadget of Solid Snake in Rainbow Six Siege X. The handheld device allows the operator to see the surroundings, including opponents nearby.
The radar indicates soft surfaces for you to shoot through or break. It also warns about a possible danger: via three light-up colors. Green means safety, yellow informs about a CCTV camera watching Snake, and red is a danger alert, as active opponents are around.
With the Solution Radar MKIII, you can even see position icons and vision cones of your opponents. The precision mode should be turned on for this: it's active for a limited period and requires some time to reload.
Snake is vulnerable with this radar, as he has only a knife in the other hand.
Defenders get notifications if the radar spots them. It's a crucial opportunity to reposition or attack first.
It is possible to deceive the Solution Radar MKIII. Alibi's Prisma holograms and Vigil's Electronic Rendering Cloak can do this.
Loadout
Rainbow Six Siege X Solid Snake is a one-health, three-speed attacker operator. The image below highlights his loadout.
- Primary weapon: The PMR90A2 marksman rifle or the F2 assault rifle.
- The TACIT .45 pistol, with an integrated suppressor and reflex sight. It's very similar to the original Metal Gear Solid weapon.
The F2 gets buffs for the Operation Silent Hunt. You can use grip attachments with it, like horizontal, angled, or vertical recoil-reducing grips.
The limited-time [Redacted] event: A Metal Gear Solid game mode
This event starts a few weeks into Year 11 Season 1. [Redacted] invites you to a modified map Nighthaven Labs, which looks like a Metal Gear Solid location.
The game mode is a 4v4 infiltration-themed battle. It comes with a story, as Solid Snake teams up with Zero, another stealth operator in R6 Siege X.
Rewards for this event include additional Metal Gear Solid cosmetics, such as Meryl outfit for Ash and Gray Fox skin for Jackal.
