The RLCS 2025 World Finals take place in Lyon, France, which promises lots of excitement in the arena. However, to play in front of this wonderful crowd, the teams should make it out of their groups at the Rocket League World Championship 2025.
For some players, this task is on the level of a warm-up. It’s really hard to see the final brackets without Karmine Corp, Vitality, Falcons, and NRG. For other teams, boosting themselves through the group matches is a great deal! Four participating orgs had a tough Play-In stage to be here.

Rocket League World Finals: Group Stage matchups and results
In the groups of the RLCS 2025 World Championship, the 16 participating teams battle for eight spots in the Playoffs.
In the best-case scenario, it is enough to win two matches on Day 1 to advance to the final brackets. One loss sends a team to the lower brackets, with a real risk of elimination.

Day 1: Wildcard surprises! Vitality survives 0:8
Four teams qualified for the Playoffs via the upper brackets of the Group stage. Day 1 of the RLCS 2025 World Championship brought us wow moments and great surprises.
- Wildcard lives up to their name. The team qualified from the Oceania region. The Australian players defeated FURIA and Dignitas without losing a game.
- The Ultimates destroyed Geekay Esports and then won over Karmine Corp. Sending the Rocket League EWC 2025 Champions to the lower brackets is a decent upset to spice up the tournament.
- Team Falcons defeated Gen.G and Vitality. They delivered a 6:2 score over Vitality in game 3. For the French team, it wasn't the only jaw-dropping score. In the match versus Spacestation, Vitality lost 0:8! They needed to perform a brilliant reverse sweep to still win that match.
- NRG had a difficult match versus Ninjas in Pyjamas, as the opponents were close to a reverse sweep. Still, NRG won and then defeated Team Secret to secure their final brackets spot.
Day 2: Vitality is out, Karmine Corp destroys FURIA
The lower brackets of the RLCS 2025 Group Stage treated us to absolutely fantastic matches!
- Ninja in Pyjamas started with losing two games versus Twisted Minds, but then they performed an amazing reverse sweep. In the next match, NiP defeated Team Vitality, which was a mind-blowing upset.
- Spacestation Gaming had an extremely close matches versus Gen.G and Team Secret — to qualify for the Playoffs.
- Geekay Esports delivered a couple of amazing game scores: 7:2 versus Virtus.pro and 6:1 versus Dignitas. They also survived an awfully long overtime — +6:26 in Game 2 vs Dignitas.
- Karmine Corp treated their home crowd to a wow-game over FURIA. The performance of this French team was certainly of the World Champions level!

A warm-up stage and more
On the one hand, some teams can feel pretty safe at this tournament stage. On the other hand, everyone here is aimed at the best result, as it's a way to better playoff seeding.
- Karmine Corp won the Birmingham Major and the Rocket League Esports World Cup 2025.
- Team Falcons are the Raleigh Major 2025 Champions.
- Team Vitality — The World Champions 2024 have adapted nicely to the new org, as Vitality’s results have been boosted to the top 4 level at the recent international tournaments.
- NRG remains the best Rocket League players in North America.
As for exact groups at the RLCS 2025 World Championship, Group B is more stacked with the tournament favorites.
- Group A gives a nice chance to The Ultimates, Dignitas, and Geekay Esports to qualify for the playoffs. These teams reached the grand finals in Birmingham, Raleigh, and at the EWC 2025. FURIA should join this fight, as it has traditionally been the best team in South America.
- Spacestation, Team Secret, and Twisted Minds should battle for the fourth qualification spot in Group B. Both have progressed substantially with their results, even if their performances are not stable at all.
The final matches of the Rocket League World Championship 2025 happen on Sept. 13 and Sept. 14. Alongside the team playoffs, we can witness the RLCS 2025 1v1 World Final: Mawkzy and Nwpo play on Saturday, Sept. 13.
