Rocket League celebrates a new champion today. After a wild Lower Bracket run, Moist Esports stood tall as the RLCS Spring Major champions!
The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Spring Major is finally over and Moist Esports has been crowned champions. The young, European squad pulled off a quick dash through the Lower Bracket and closed the Spring Major with one of the most dominant games of the tournament. Moist Esports return home with a massive $90,000 USD in hands and 801 RLCS ranking points; which boosts the squad to the 1st rank in the European region.
Moist Esports Lower Bracket Dash
Moist Esports dropped to the Lower Bracket quite early in the Major, after an altercation with Version1 in the Upper Quarter-Final. They first slew the fairytale run of Pioneers with a 3:0. Going to the next series, they had to face Team Liquid in a match dubbed El Splashico. It was an intense 5 games, that ended with a disappointing splash for Team Liquid.
In the Lower Quarter-Final against Spacestation Gaming, they had to go through a back and forth battle which leads to an overtime Game 7 that led them to their victory. Going forward, they ended the hope of the French superpower, Karmine Corp in the Lower Semi-Final with a 4:1 score. With this victory, Moist advanced to meet their slayers, Version1 in a revenge match-up in the Lower Final. They did not lower their defense and won 4 games against their fellow North American team. Moist were a beast throughout the Lower Bracket and that earned them the Grand Final against Team Falcons.
Brutal dominance in the Grand Finals
Moist Esports went to the Grand Final with the disadvantage of having to reset the bracket to win the series. Game One started with Team Falcons winning 3:0. The Saudi Arabian squad is notorious to adapt quickly but this time around, Moist Esports kept themselves a step ahead. They took the next three games, pressuring Team Falcons to take action. The game managed to extend to Game 7 where Moist Esports successfully reset the bracket.
The next series was just Moist Esports showing the world how it is done. They didn't give space for Team Falcons to do their magic. As they witnessed Team Falcons crumble, they took every shot they can get. The last series went 4:0 in favor of Moist and they are crowned as the RLCS Spring Major champions.
