This Twitch streamer developed a widget that allows you to play the Ocarina of Time through Twitch Chat.

People are always looking for additional ways to make their streams more enjoyable and interactive for their community. One streamer though, has gone above and beyond and has made the ocarina from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time playable through his Twitch Chat.

Nutty, a Zelda Twitch streamer from Australia, recently revealed that he had developed a widget that allowed his chat to control Link playing the ocarina on his stream

The streamer set the commands within his stream while having a moving figure of Link playing the instrument on the screen.

"I really hope this was worth it," said Nutty on stream. "But I created a widget today that allows my viewers to play the Ocarina of Time through Twitch chat."

From N64 to Twitch, the Ocarina is now playable due to this Twitch streamers invention

The widget not only controls the mini Link on the screen, but once you fully finish typing out a song, it will play the entirety of the tune. In the video above, Nutty has Link perform Epona's Song, a classic from the game, and when finished, link plays the tune all by himself.

This directly correlates with the game, where Link would always end up playing the song by himself after the player had conducted him to do so with the controls.

So what are the controls people have to use to make this widget work? Well, it's pretty easy. All you have to do is type these words to make a song come to life on the Ocarina:

  • Left
  • Right
  • Up
  • Down
  • A

Theoretically, this will allow you to play just about everything, but Nutty has it programmed to actually detect whenever you play a song from The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time.

With a streamer like Nutty developing such cool widgets for the platform these days, who knows what we could see tomorrow!
