Grab a free donut from Krispy Kreme today even as the PlayStation Network slowly comes back up.

After a long long downtime, PlayStation Network seems to be coming back up for some players. However, it’s still not back up at 100% and many players are reporting issues with online play. Meanwhile, Krispy Kreme is offering free donuts to gamers who have nothing to do now that the Sony network is down.

PlayStation Network stumbling back online

Some users are reporting instances of the PlayStation Network slowly coming back up. Users have posted screenshots of them successfully logging in to the servers. However, despite succeeding with the logins, there are still reports of problems finding and playing online multiplayer matches.

The last time PlayStation servers were down for such a long time was all the way back in 2011 due to a security breach. It was down for 23 days and personal details of nearly 77 million users were compromised. The initial attack lasted between April 17 and 19, 2011 before Sony closed down the network on April 20. The outage lasting over three weeks marked a period of gloom for PlayStation users.

Players still unable to play games

Despite being able to log in to the servers, several players have reported they are unable to play games. The servers have been down for more than 18 hours and counting. It's still unclear why Sony is taking such a long time to get the servers back up.

The PlayStation Network went down at around 7 p.m. ET and has been reported by thousands of players in the United States. What seemed to have been a short disruption has continued for more almost an entire day. With many players using the PlayStation Network to play their favorite games online, this has caused a lot of frustration and anger among players.

PlayStation is home to several multiple titles such as Rocket League, Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA Online, and more. Sony has acknowledged the issue once, but has failed to provide timely updates to impatient gamers.

All PlayStation services have been impacted including PlayStation Direct, Video, and the store. Users have reported issues with payments failing to go through as well as login and server issues.

Free Krispy Kreme donuts for ‘bored gamers’

With gamers posting memes about the PlayStation network problems, brands have also joined in with offers. With the servers down for so long, many gamers have nothing to do - so what’s better than luring them in with free donuts? That’s exactly what Krispy Kreme is doing with a free donut for all gamers within a specific time period.

Calling all gamers: this play station still works  Grab a free Original Glazed Doughnut today from 5-7 PM—because sweet rewards don’t need a server.

The offer is only valid between 5 and 7 p.m., so if you are near a Krispy Kreme - better go in and grab a free donut for yourself. Hopefully, the PlayStation servers will be back up before by then.
