Tekken 8 Kazuya Mishima looks incredibly sick in new gameplay trailer

#News

We already knew Kazuya Mishima would feature in Tekken 8, but his gameplay reveal has shed light on how he’ll handle and we’re excited.

Dust off that controller, and re-remember the Rage Drive combo because Kazuya is set to make his presence known in Tekken 8. Bandai Namco have finally showcased gameplay of Kazuya Mishima, the series' main antagonists, and he is looking as badass as expected.

Tekken 8 Kazuya gameplay revealed!

Kazuya Mishima is one of the best punishers in Tekken, a vicious character who will make his opponents regret every little slip. Fortunately, Bandai Namco haven't dropped the ball on making Kazuya looks as formidable as he typically plays in the latest gameplay trailer.

Tekken 8 Kazuya can transform into his devil-form in-game

Released on Twitter and YouTube on Feb. 21, the new Tekken 8 trailer shows that Kazuya Mishima is still the hard-hitting beatdown artist we remember from previous Tekken games.

The new trailer also confirmed Kazuya’s devil transformation would be in the game and a core part of his gameplay.

With its ranged laser attack, this transformation caused many a juvenile arcade player to call BS in past Tekken games.

However, the change makes sense in a Tekken 8, where the Williams sisters will be rocking pistols, and weapons are taking a more prominent role for ranged attacks. Still, we hope Jin has a Devil transformation of his own in Tekken 8 to reciprocate the beatdown from Kazuya.

Kazuya gameplay: “I’m not going to sugarcoat it."

The reveal also instantly prompted the Tekken community to revive the classic Kazuya meme about his seemingly ridiculously overpowered Rage Drive combo.

The combo, which is one of the most devastating ones in Tekken, made Kazuya a monster in Tekken 7. Still, in our opinion, Kazuya was most broken in Tekken 3, and is arguably toned down in later games.

What’s more, Kazuya’s Rage Art seems absolutely incredible, with the Mishima man taking to the skies in Devil Form to deliver a devastating leg drop to his son. Overall, Kazuya looks incredible, his fighting style is an excellent combination of the classic and the new, and we can’t wait to get our hands on Tekken 8!

When is Tekken 8 coming out?

The latest entry in the Tekken series doesn’t even have a release date, and the only details Bandai Namco has dropped is that it’ll likely be out in “the financial year 2023.” Still, the hype is already at a fever pitch as Kazuya’s gameplay trailer drops.
